Our First 2006 Derby
February 25, 2006 Ellis Lake in Marysville

Well guys and gals, it was an extremely tough bite. To make a long story short, we had 16 participants and only 7 carp were caught. Tazzer (Anthony) took first place with a 6 lb 11 oz and 4 lb 1 oz'er for a total weight of 10 lbs 12 oz's. Mary (fishngal) took 2nd place with a 9 lb 5 oz'er which also took the big fish jackpot for 65 big ones. She bought me dinner at Hometown Buffet in Yuba City with part of her winnings. Steve Gibbons took 3rd place with a 8 lb 7 oz'er, Drew (Netman's son) took 4th with a 5 lb 9 oz'er, LJ (Tazzer's friend) took 5th with a 4 lb 10 oz'er and Netman (Leg Cramp's friend) took 6th place with a 3 lb 13 oz'er. Total weight of all carp caught during the derby was 42 lbs 8 oz's.

Sean Gibbons, Paul (friend of Tazzer), Nate (Tazzer's friend), Uruguain carp guide (Leg Cramp's dad), Leg Cramp, Raymac, Robert, Ed (yeah that's me) and two unnamed young locals all were tied for 7th place with zero fish.
