August 20, 2005 Derby Results

It was a very successful derby! Almost everyone caught fish and the weather was great. We had 7 participants including Mary and I. We had a nice hot dog BBQ during the derby.

Mary and I are using the BBQ and serving of food as our excuse for doing so poorly in the derby.

Carper Rick caught one nice carp just before the official start time and Keith caught several after the derby was over. Steve Gibbons stayed and fished until dark catching 16 more carp for a grand total of 23 carp including his derby fish. There were over 50 carp caught off our seawall for the day! Steve's son Sean, got a really nice surprise when a 14 lb carp grabbed his plastic worm on his bass rig.
